The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) can be used by mobile phone companies to identify valid subscribers and the type of equipment used. The number could be also used to remotely disable the phone if it is it is stolen or lost.
For most phones this method works to find out the IMEI:
1. While the phone is on press the following keys one by one: * # 0 6 # and press go or send.
2.The IMEI number will appear on the screen.
For Motorola iDen units:
1.Press while the phone is on the following keys in rapid succession without pause: # * [menu] [right arrow].
2.The fifteenth is always a 0 if are displayed just 14.
Other method:
After the phone is powered off, remove the battery and search for a white labelfor the IMEI. Only the first 15-digits are needed.
Tip: The first method doesn't work with LG-WX3200, Nextel (iDEN) RIM (BlackBerry), RAZR V3m.
