1. Start Tally.

2. If the Company Information screen is loaded first go to menu option 'Backup', select it and go to 'Select Companies to Backup' screen. If the 'Gateway of Tally' screen loads press Alt+F3 to go to the option Backup.

3. Choose your backup path. The process of backing up data begins when at least one company was selected. To stop selecting companies, select the option 'End of List'.

To restore the files follow the same procedure but instead of 'Backup' at the first screen look for 'Restore' option.

To split data, load the company that you want to split and follow this steps:

1. Select Company Info (Alt+F3).

2. Select Split Company Data.

3. Select Company.

4. Specify the date from which the company will be split and save the screen.
