If I insert a usb flash drive on a friends machine to view files ,will those files stay on his hard drive for future viewing ?

Answer:

If you do not copy the files on the hard drive they will not stay there for future viewing. If you just insert the stick and view the files from the stick, after you remove it the files won't remain on that computer.
