At random times the sound on my computer will cut out.If I restart the computer the sound will work again.

Answer:

This could be a problem caused by your sound card driver, speakers or sound card connectors, or the audio player.

Try to:

1. Reinstall the audio driver with the latest one available.
2. Check the connectors to see if they are not damaged.
3. Use other audio/video player.

If you are trying to view/listen multuimedia content from the internet the cut off can appear if the download speed is not fast enough.
