Display driver nvlddmkm stops working?

Question Details:

I have been having a big problem with my computer running Vista. It will come up with a message saying "display driver nvlddmkm stopped working and has now recovered", after freezing for a while.

Sometimes it completely freezes and won't come back. When I try to boot it back up, it works, but it comes back in horrible 4-bit color and the lowest resolution possible and it won't let me fix it. I tried booting in safe mode- same story.

Firefox also stops responding. Rare is the time when it actually boots up normally- I usually have to turn the computer off and on 20 times before it works normally. How do I solve this?

Answer:

It is very possible that your video card driver is not fully compatible with Windows Vista or has a bug. We suggest to completely remove the current driver ( you can use Driver Cleaner Professional to do that) and install the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.
