My computer freezes after installing new video card. How would I solve this?

Question Details:

I installed a new GeForce 7600GT video card to replace my ATI Radeon 9600. I installed new drivers and screen shows up, but the computer freezes in different ways. 1. when I'm using Firefox 2. when I'm booting up, during the Windows screen 3. when I'm booting up, between the Windows screen and the logon menu screen As far as I'm concerned my motherboard should be able to use this video card, but I'm no expert so I can't tell for sure. Also, I don't have anybody around me with a desktop PC so I can't really test this card in its own either. Is there anyways to solve this?

Answer:

There could be a problem with your new card drivers. Try to reinstall them and install the latest version from Ati website. Be sure that you have uninstalled firt the GeForce drivers. If it does not work maybe you should contact ATI.

Other cause can be the fact that the video card is damaged or not installed properly in your computer.

Possibly a fresh install of Windows will solve your problem, maybe it is a Windows problem.
