You can try one of the following:

1. Use a CD-ROM cleaning kit and clean you CD-ROM.
2. Check the data and power cables just in case.
3. Try the drive in another computer. If it works it seems there is a problem with the connections or your computer.

If you still cand resolve your problem it seems you CD-ROM gone bad and you should buy another one
