In order to have front a mounted USB you must have:
-A case with USB ports in the front of it.
-A motherboard that supports front USB.
-The wiring between the USB port and the motherboard
A computer case can support front USB in two ways: with a pass thru connection or with a port to header connection. Pass thru connection is compatible with all motherboards which have USB ports.
The way that Pass thru front USB works is by having the ports on the front of the case connect to a standard USB cable or a small rounded cable. The cable goes from the front of the case to a slot.
To use Port to Header connection you should check that the wires from your port will connect to your motherboard's header. You must know what header you have and what type of connector you have.
