Computer will not recognize secondary projector monitor. Why?

Question Details:

I can not get my new Acer Extensa 5620 to recongnize the secondary monitor to project words on to a screen. I am using a 100 foot VGA cable with a 210 foot booster box to enhance the signal. Nothing. I hooked a Dell and a Gateway (without the booster) and they work with no problem. This Acer just will not recognize the secondary monitor.

Answer:

Most of the new laptops have the ability to connect an external display.Connect the monitor to the laptop's 15-pin video connection . It will may automatically switch to the new external display or you have to press a sequence of keys to switch to the external display( most often used are Fn + F3, Fn + F5, Fn + F8 or Fn + F9)

Try to connect it without the booster, with a shorter cable. Maybe the signal it is too low.
